Kevin Carey is a jazz pianist, born and raised in Schenectady NY. Having
studied piano from an early age, he began seriously studying jazz and performing at the age of 15.
His influences include Bill Evans, Esperanza Spalding, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, and Jacky Terrasson.
Currently enrolled at the college of Saint Rose as a Music Industry major, he is an avid performer with
groups all over the Capital Region. He is also an active songwriter, and member of several other
groups in a variety of styles. Notable appearances include playing with the Keith Pray Big Soul
Ensemble, and saxophonist Lee Russo. In addition to studying jazz, he is also a composer,
recording engineer/producer, and conductor.
